The Accounts of a Probiotic Newbie – From a Jet-Setting Pilot

I am a pilot. I have been flying for more than 20 years. Unlike other jobs, I don’t have a 9 a.m.- 5p.m., Monday to Friday work schedule. Often I have to adjust my sleeping schedule to stay awake for long, international trips that depart late at night. Of course, my busy schedule and adjusting how I sleep affects when I eat. What I eat is another issue. Throughout the years I often had to eat the same plane food that is offered to passengers. The options haven’t really changed… “Chicken or Pasta?” When I want to be adventurous I carry sandwiches from home in my carry-on luggage. Wherever I travel I always have to watch what I eat. If I decide to eat outside the hotel where I rest between flights, I have to make sure I don’t eat something that may send me to the hospital and inhibit my ability to fly.

I have to admit that I’ve picked up some bad eating habits, which have definitely affected my digestive health. On top of that, I only eat once a day, which is something I was became used to when I was in the Air Force.  All of this together has affected my health and digestive system. I especially had problems with constipation. To ease this issue, I decided to take yogurt, which certainly helped. However, when I fly I don’t want to worry about having to refrigerate yogurt and it’s not something I want exploding in my carry-on luggage. When a relative suggested that I try Vidazorb® chewable probiotics while I fly, I decided to give it a try.

WEEK 1:

When I started I had already been taking yogurt and have felt somewhat regular. So the first week I didn’t really experience a noticeable difference. However I continued taking them to see if my body still needed to adjust to the new probiotics.

WEEK 2:

I have noticed I had been going to the bathroom slightly more than when I was only eating yogurt. I was feeling great! It seems like it cleared out everything that had been backed up in my intestines for who knows how long! I was also gassier than usual…was not fun for my wife! Luckily, the gas was only temporary.

WEEK 3:

This week I still felt great! I’m glad I can take the probiotics with me when I fly. If my stomach is ever upset from eating foreign food, I know I can take a Vidazorb® tablet to ease the symptoms.

WEEK 4:

Still regular and still happy. My digestive tract feels light and I noticed I feel like I have more energy. To be honest, I was skeptical about taking probiotic supplements. I always thought I would be okay just eating yogurt, but Vidazorb® proved me wrong. I think I found a new travel buddy!
