Suffering in Secret from IBS? Suffer No More.

“One issue in the health world that is finally becoming less taboo is the topic of healthy bowels. Everyone has a digestive system and everyone has to deal with how their body reacts. Unfortunately, for many, their body reacts in a terrible way. As we move into April, it’s important to acknowledge National Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) Awareness Month. Nearly 20 percent of people in the western world struggle with this syndrome and hopefully some new help has arrived.

Those who suffer from IBS can have a range of symptoms. Some are simply an irritation, while others can be life-altering. Some experience severe constipation, chronic diarrhea, bloating, gas, fatigue, heartburn and some even experience depression. The wide range of symptoms makes it difficult for the condition to be diagnosed and therefore treated properly.

Many doctors try to treat IBS with antibiotics. This is intended to stop bacteria overgrowth, the believed cause of IBS symptoms. However, even though some treatments can cause relief, the antibiotic also wipes out the good bacteria and the problems generally return. So what’s one who suffers from IBS to do?

A product called Vidazorb® believes their chewable tablets may have the answer for those who suffer from IBS. The product is a chewable probiotic that is intended to restore the microbial environment in the GI tract to its proper state. The product claims that this state will then minimize and reduce IBS symptoms. The chewable supplements claim they contain strains of probiotics and colony forming units (CFUs) that have been clinically substantiated. The strains are reported to be effective in counteracting the side effects from antibiotics along with treating diarrhea, constipation and reducing stool frequency in those with colitis. Other benefits are being found, according to the press release Vidazorb released this month.

Those who suffer from IBS often do so silently, because it’s embarrassing. Hopefully the awareness month will end that trend and also bring more needed treatments to the forefront so those struggling with such a debilitating condition can finally get the relief they need.
